On 8 December 2025, participants of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) Legislative Internship Programme (LIP) paid a courtesy visit to the Abuja office of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS. The Legislative Internship Programme is funded by the European Union and implemented by Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre.

The interns were received by Gautier Mignot, Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, alongside Laolu Olawumi, Programme Manager of the EU-Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) Programme, and members of the EU communications team.

During the visit, the interns had the opportunity to learn more about the European Union’s support for democratic governance, legislative strengthening, civic participation, and inclusive development in Nigeria. The engagement also provided a platform for discussions on leadership, public service, and the role of young people in promoting democratic values and good governance.

The visit formed part of the internship’s efforts to expose participants to key institutions and stakeholders supporting democratic governance in Nigeria, while deepening their understanding of development cooperation and public policy processes.
