PLAC CONVENES A CSO MEETING/ DIALOGUE SESSION ON SECURITY SECTOR OVERSIGHT

PLAC, on 3rd March 2020, held a CSO Meeting/ Dialogue Session on Security Sector Oversight: Reflections on the current security climate, legislative efforts and civil society engagement, which was attended by Civil Society groups working on security related issues from the six geopolitical zones. This meeting was convened to reflect on the response of civil society to the current security climate, particularly reviewing the 9th National Assembly’s (NASS) efforts so far in tackling security challenges in the country and civil society engagement with the NASS on these issues. It also served as an opportunity for civil society groups to strategise on how to fully engage ongoing efforts on police reform by NASS and upcoming activities in this regard.
