Dialogue Session on Insecurity as a Threat to the Civic Space

Dialogue Session

Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, (PLAC) with support from United States Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement ( USAID-SCALE) held a Dialogue Session on Insecurity as a Threat to the Civic Space on Tuesday, 26th April 2022. The meeting was intended at examining the impact of Security Regulations/Laws such as the Terrorism Prevention Act 2011, Terrorism Prevention ( Amendment) Act 2013 and the Cybercrimes Act on closing civic spaces. CSOs at the meeting who were drawn from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones also examined the specific insecurity issues affecting their location of operation and best practices for balancing security concerns with an enabled civic environment
