Dialogue session on Civic Space Threats on Special Legal Frameworks themed “Fostering an Enabling Environment for CSO

Enabling Environment

Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) with support from USAID Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement, (USAID-SCALE) held a dialogue session themed “Fostering an Enabling Environment for CSOs” on Thursday, 30^th June 2022 at Ibeto Hotel, Abuja.

At the Dialogue Session, CSOs were provided the opportunity to review a Study on “Legislations and Policies on Non – Governmental Organisations: Focus on Nigeria and Select Jurisdictions” in addition to an “Analysis of pending National Assembly Bills on Civic Space”.

The study and analysis build on previous engagements with CSOs in earlier dialogue sessions which had raised concerns over the over broadening of laws as well as other peculiar factors affecting CSO engagement at State level /geo-political zones.
