The Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) hosted the 4th Annual Alumni Convening of the Legislative Internship Programme (LIP), bringing together members of past and present cohorts of the programme. The convening provided a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and strengthening the growing community of PLAC Legislative Internship alumni.

A key highlight of the event was a presentation by Sam Hart, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, and Chancellor of the Sam Hart Centre for Strategic Leadership. Speaking on the theme, “Building Leaders through Alumni Communities: Collaboration, Networks and Opportunities,” he emphasized the importance of strong alumni networks in fostering leadership development, mentorship, collaboration, and access to opportunities.

The session featured insightful discussions on practical strategies for building and sustaining a vibrant alumni community among former PLAC Legislative Interns across different cohorts. Participants engaged actively, sharing experiences and exploring ways to leverage the network to advance personal, professional, and civic leadership goals.

The Annual Alumni Convening remains an important platform for strengthening connections among PLAC Legislative Internship alumni and promoting continued engagement in democratic governance and public service.
