The second day transitioned into specialized operational tracks, giving interns the specific administrative toolkit required to navigate their legislative workspace with excellence.

The Engine Room of Oversight: Moderated by seasoned AIT journalist Mr. Gbenga Aruleba, a comprehensive lecture by Dr. Innocent Mebiri (Director of Committees, Senate) detailed the intricate structure of National Assembly committees and how oversight investigations are conducted.

From First Reading to Passage: Mr. Idowu Bakare, Deputy Director and Clerk, House Committee on Water Resources, took the interns on a technical, step-by-step masterclass charting a bill’s journey from policy conception to presidential assent.

Safety, Security, and Protocols: To ensure seamless integration within the complex, The Sergeant-at-Arms of the National Assembly briefed the cohort on core protocol, structural layout, emergency routes, and strict professional decorum.

Alumni Experience Sharing: Former PLAC interns returned to share practical roadmaps. Bridget Abiem and Sylvia Didam facilitated discussions on ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct, while Abubakar Ibrahim Surajo and Joanna Kure coached the new cohort on making the absolute most of the internship timeline.
