The Strategy and Capacity Building Retreat session of the 10th Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public petitions took place at Lagos Marriot Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on the 23rd and 24th February 2024.
Participants at the retreat include members of the Committee, the Committee secretariat including the Clerk, Deputy Clerk, Head of Administration and other support staff. Executive Director of PLAC, Clement Nwankwo gave the Statement of Purpose/ Welcome Remarks.
Various presentations delivered at the retreat include ‘Addressing Legal and Constitutional Impediments faced by the Committee in delivering on its Mandate’ by Senator Ita Enang; and ‘Strategic/ Work Plan Development for the Committee in the 10th Assembly’ by Dr. Aminu Umar. Others include ‘Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms for Resolving Public Petitions and Complaints’ by George Omoaka, SAN, and ‘Strategies for visibility and Public awareness of the Committees’ Mechanism’ by Ayo Makinde.
