President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted the Nigeria Startup Bill, 2021 to the National Assembly for consideration and passage.
In his letter dated, 21 February 2022, which was read on the floor of the Senate and House of Representatives on Tuesday, 1 March 2022, President Buhari stated that the Nigeria Startup Bill seeks to position Nigeria’s Startup ecosystem as the leading digital technology center in Africa.
According to President Buhari, the Bill further seeks to establish the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship to be responsible for providing cutting edge skills and exportable capacity in the areas of technology.
