The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr. Ibrahim Magu, will appear before Senate on Wednesday, 15th March 2017 for his confirmation hearing.
In what appeared to be a turn of events, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki made the announcement at Tuesday’s plenary of 14th March 2017. It will be recalled that Senate earlier rejected Mr Magu in his first confirmation process in 2016 based on a State Security Service (SSS) report that accused him of enriching himself and living beyond his legitimate income.
However, President Buhari had pleaded with lawmakers to confirm Mr Magu when he re-submitted his name to the Senate for further consideration in January 2017.
