Sani Omolori Resumes As Clerk To The National Assembly

Mr. Sani Omolori has assumed office as the Clerk to the National Assembly. Prior to his confirmation as Clerk, he served as Clerk to the House of Representatives for over six (6) years and was then appointed as Acting Clerk to the National Assembly in April, 2016 to replace the former Clerk, Salisu Maikasuwa who proceeded on pre-retirement leave in May 2016. As the substantive head and accounting officer of the National Assembly, he is saddled with some vital responsibilities such as:

-Forwarding Bills passed by both Houses of the National Assembly to the President for Assent,

-Conveying to the President through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Resolutions of the National Assembly,

-Coordinating Legislative activities of both Houses,

-Enrolling Acts of the National Assembly,

-Sitting at the head of the Table in the Chamber at Joint Sessions of the National Assembly,

Occupying the highest bureaucratic office in the National Assembly, he is generally responsible for the day to day administration of its affairs.
