The Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe), on Wednesday, 13 October 2021, appointed Senator Ya’u Alhaji Sahabi (APC, Zamfara), Chairman Senate Committee on National Population and National Identity.

The Committee has the responsibility of oversight of the National Population Commission headed by the Director General, Dr. Ghaji Ismaila Bello from Kumo, Gombe State. The Chairman of the Commission is Honourable Nasir Isa Kwarra, from Nasarawa State.
