The House of Representatives on Tuesday 19th February 2019 suspended plenary till 2nd April 2019, to allow the committees organise budget defence sessions for Federal Government’s ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had formally presented the 2019 budget proposal of N8.83 trillion at a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday 19, December 2018. Despite the House’s referral of the budget to its committee on Appropriations and all standing committees on Tuesday, 29th January 2019 thorough scrutiny on the bill had been ignored due to the February 23rd and March 9th 2019 General Elections.
