PLAC Convenes A Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue Session on Police Bill

PLAC, 19 November 2018, held a dialogue session between the National Assembly (NASS) represented by the sponsor of the bill, Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Chairman of the Police Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, Hon. Lawal Garba, the representative of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), CP Adat Ududo, members of the media and civil society on the Police Bill. The purpose of the discourse was to provide for members of civil society and the media a platform to share their views on the various challenges pertaining to the revision of the Police Act and to identify common priorities and strategies for moving it forward. This Dialogue Session contributed to fostering strategic partnerships between civil society and legislators on police reform and the Police Bill.
