The main purpose of this Workshop was to prepare and provide guidance to the Interns through their journey at the National Assembly. The training was enriched with seasoned facilitators with knowledge on the statutory functions, internal affairs and structure of the National Assembly.
The workshop/training is divided into two day sessions:
Day One: Welcome/Opening Ceremony/Keynote Address: by Mr. Clement Nwakwo, Executive Director, PLAC; Laolu Olawumi, Programme Manager, Democracy and Rule of Law, Delegation of the European Union to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and ECOWAS and Mr. Sani Tambuwal Magaji, Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA).
Dr. Rahila Amadu, Former Director, National Secretariat of the Nigerian Legislatures on “An Overview of the Structure and Functions of the National Assembly”;
Hon. Rima Shawulu, Member representing Takun/Donga/Ussa Federal Constituency; Taraba State (2015 to 2023) on “the Practice and Politics of Law-making”;
Mrs. Agianpe Onyema – Former Cordinator, Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room on “From Passion to Action: The Role of Young People as Changemakers”
Stella Onwochie, Chief Operating Officer at Cerca Africa on “Team Building”.
Day Two: “Understanding the National Assembly Work Environment: A Practical Guide for Current Interns by Past Interns”: Eniola Bisiriyu, Mark Okhakhume and Abiye Briggs.
