This publication by PLAC presents highlights of legislative bills relating to gender, which have been presented in the 9th Assembly from its inauguration till December 2020. Gender issues have always formed the subject matter for several conversations, especially among civil society organisations, particularly with regard to inequality and marginalisation of the girl child and women across the various spheres of society. The world commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October 2021 with the theme “Digital generation. Our generation”. Several organisations seized the opportunity to amplify gender gap issues and other matters pertaining to the girl child, specifically calling for improved access to information technology infrastructure.
