The National Assembly will resume plenary on 2nd April 2019 after briefly adjourning to enable lawmakers participate at the budget defence sessions for Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Prior to its adjournment of plenary, discussions at both chambers of the National Assembly had focused on the passage of the 2019 budget (of N8.83 trillion).
It will be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had formally presented the budget proposal at a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday 19, December 2018. However, thorough scrutiny on the bill had been delayed due to political campaigns and the Presidential and Governorship elections that held on February 23 and March 9, 2019 respectively.
