Bill in Brief: Nigeria Police Service and State Police Establishment

Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC)’s Bill in Brief series provides highlights of this Constitution alteration bill before the Senate seeking the creation of State Police, State Police Councils and State Police Service Commissions. It also seeks to replace the “Nigeria Police Force” with “Nigeria Police Service” in the Constitution.  The bill passed second reading on 12^th March 2020 and was referred to the Committee on Constitution Review.
