NYSC was also called to immediately mobilize prospective Corp members in Benue State to partake in the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was sequel to a motion of urgent national importance moved by Hon. E. Y. Orker-Jev (PDP: Benue) titled <strong><em>\u201cSuspension of Benue Students from further participation from NYSC Scheme\u201d <\/em><\/strong>where he expressed concern over the actions of NYSC in refusing or neglecting to mobilize graduates of BSU and other tertiary institutions in the State from participating in the compulsory national service; scheduled to commence in November 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the motion, Hon. Orker-Jev voiced surprise over NYSC\u2019s failure to initially communicate its decision to the management of the affected institutions explaining that BSU was only informed after it inquired via a letter on the status of its students awaiting mobilization only to be informed that BSU and other higher institutions in the State had been banned from the one year scheme over age falsification and other sundry reasons.<\/p>\n<p>The House further to this, mandated its Committees on Youth Development and Legislative Compliance to ensure strict adherence of its resolution within a week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The House of Representatives at its plenary session on Thursday 18th October 2018 urged the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to rescind its apparently \u201cillegal decision\u201d to suspend fresh graduates from Benue State University (BSU) and other tertiary institutions in the State from participating in its compulsory exercise coming up next month (Batch C).
