Sen. Dino Melaye (APC:Kogi) drew the attention of the chambers to a front page headline of a media house that allegedly misrepresented the Northern Senators Forum resolutions at its meeting which held on Wednesday, 4<sup>th<\/sup> May 2016 in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Raising the point of order on behalf of all Northern Senators at the Senate plenary of Thursday, 5<sup>th <\/sup>May, 2016, Sen. Melaye described the media report that the Forum had issued a warning to some Governors, leaders and community heads in the country to desist from making inflammatory statements that could further overheat the polity as a result of the Fulani herdsmen attack on some Enugu indigenes as \u201cinflammatory\u201d and in contrast with the Forum\u2019s decision. The Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki (APC:Kwara) also called on the media to carry out investigative journalism.<\/p>\n<p>After the discussions on the point of order raised, the Senate adjourned plenary to 12<sup>th<\/sup> May, 2016 to enable PDP senators attend their party\u2019s congress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate has cautioned the media against misrepresentation of facts in its news reportage.
