Kate Henshaw<\/strong>, Chair of the PLAC Board of Directors, delivered an inspiring session titled “Using Your Voice, Opportunities and Platforms for Positive Impact,”<\/strong> encouraging interns to leverage their voices, embrace opportunities, and use their influence to create meaningful change in their communities and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Omoruyi Austin Aigbe<\/strong>, Election Expert and ECOWAS Liaison Lead, West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network, presented on “Democracy in Practice: Elections, Accountability and the Citizen’s Role.”<\/strong> His session explored the foundations of democratic governance, the importance of electoral integrity, accountability, and the critical role citizens play in strengthening democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also featured a safeguarding session led by Omolara Akinyeye<\/strong>, Deputy Executive Director, PLAC, on “Understanding Safeguarding: Safety, Respect and Responsibility in the Internship Programme.”<\/strong> She highlighted the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment throughout the internship while emphasizing the responsibilities expected of every intern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
