{"id":972,"date":"2018-12-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/placng.org\/Legist\/nass-staff-call-off-strike-action\/"},"modified":"2020-01-09T02:39:15","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T02:39:15","slug":"nass-staff-call-off-strike-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/placng.org\/Legist\/nass-staff-call-off-strike-action\/","title":{"rendered":"NASS Staff Call off Strike Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) on Thursday 20 December 2018 temporarily retracted from its position of strike action following assurances from National Assembly\u2019s management to meet\u00a0\u00a0 demands from a Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) agreement that was approved in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>It will be recalled that legislative activities at the National Assembly were initially grounded in early and mid-December of 2018 as staff halted activities in protest over their salaries and allowances.<\/p>\n<p>Although both chambers of the National Assembly have gone ahead to adopt a report that seeks to improve the Conditions of Service for its bureaucratic staff, its leadership has since distanced itself from the protests; claiming that the payment of allowances issue is a managerial one.
