On 15-16 May 2025, the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), in partnership with the Swiss Parliamentary Services, hosted a two-day capacity building retreat in Abuja for staff of the National Assembly Directorate of Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Friendship Group Committees. The retreat was themed: \u201cEnhancing Inter-Parliamentary Relations for Effective Legislative Diplomacy” and aimed to strengthen the ability of parliamentary staff to foster legislative cooperation and diplomacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event featured expert-led sessions, workshops, and discussions\non inter-parliamentary frameworks and diplomatic communication. Facilitators\nshared global best practices. The retreat was highly interactive, with\nparticipants actively contributing to discussions and sharing their\nexperiences. Staff from the Directorate of Inter-Parliamentary Relations\nappreciated the opportunity to network with peers and learn from experts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
PLAC remains dedicated to promoting good governance and\ncitizens\u2019 access to the legislative process through initiatives like this\nretreat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
