The two-day retreat with the theme, \u201c<strong><em>Enhancing the\u00a0Quality\u00a0of\u00a0Legislative Instruments (Bills)\u00a0in the\u00a010<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0National\u00a0Assembly<\/em><\/strong>\u201d took place on November 24 and\u00a0 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of the retreat was to strengthen&nbsp;the committee\u2019s&nbsp;capacity to&nbsp;oversight the quality of Bills and all other\nlegislative instruments within its mandate.&nbsp;It was also aimed at enhancing&nbsp;coordination of standards for the development of Bills and scrutiny of\nBills&nbsp;in the&nbsp;10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;National&nbsp;Assembly,&nbsp;as well as developing strategies for the\nproduction of a template for Bills development.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The retreat featured several presentations by various legislative\nexperts. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) organised a retreat for the House of Representatives Committee on Rules and Business in Abuja with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
