The bill sponsored by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and the Chief Whip, Hon. Mohammed Tahir Monguno, designates titles to the members of the National Assembly. It introduces new sections 21 and 22 to the Act \u00a0to read as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"21\"><li>\u00a0<em>A member of The Senate shall be designated and addressed as a Senator and shall be entitled to have before his name the word \u201cSenator\u201d during his term in office and for life.<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"22\"><li><em>A member of the House of Representative shall be designated and addressed as a \u201cRepresentative\u201d and shall be entitled to have before his name the word \u201cRepresentative\u201d during his term in office and for life.<\/em><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Legislators in the Senate are often addressed as\n\u2018Distinguished Senator\u2019 while those in the House of Representatives are\naddressed as \u2018Honourable\u2019 and \u2018Right Honourable\u2019 for the Speaker. However, this\nbill aims to change this.
