The 10-week internship programme is being implemented with support from the European Union in Nigeria. Speaking at the event, Programme Manager, EU in Nigeria, Laolu Olawunmi enjoined the interns to deepen their knowledge and understanding of legislative issues and also enrich their experience by learning from one another. She reiterated the EU\u2019s interest and commitment to working with young people.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nthree-day orientation started off with a welcome dinner and on the subsequent\ndays, the interns participated in several sessions in which they interacted\nwith experts on the structure, operations and legislative processes of the\nNational Assembly, as well as youth participation in governance and democracy.\nThis is to equip them with essential knowledge and skills ahead of their\ndeployment to committees and departments in the National Assembly, where they\nwill be experiencing the activities of &nbsp;Nigeria\u2019s federal legislature first-hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nis the 9<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the PLAC\u2019s Legislative internship, which took\noff in 2014. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, 4th October 2022, Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) commenced orientation for 38 youths selected from the 36 States of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to participate in its 2022 Legislative Internship programme, in Abuja.
