The nominees include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ikoh Henry Ikechukwu \u2013 Abia State <\/li><li>Umana Okon Umana \u2013 Akwa Ibom <\/li><li>Ekumankama Joseph Nkama \u2013 Ebonyi <\/li><li>Goodluck Nanah Opiah \u2013 Imo <\/li><li>Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub \u2013 Kano <\/li><li>Ademola Adewole Adegoroye \u2013 Ondo <\/li><li>Odum Udi \u2013 Rivers <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ministers who resigned recently to contest in primaries include: Godswill Akpabio,\u00a0 Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Rotimi Amaechi,\u00a0 Minister of Transportation; Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education; Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Science and Technology; and Uche Ogah, Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Senate has a reputation for confirming virtually all of the President\u2019s nominees to various positions. It is unclear how this present confirmation hearing will go. However, observers are concerned that the practice of screening presidential nominees in plenary sessions is hardly ever exhaustive or deep. Relevant questions are not asked. This is worsened by the fact that ministerial portfolios or assignments are not disclosed by the President in forwarding his nominees.
