{"id":2512,"date":"2022-02-24T15:14:45","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T15:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/placng.org\/Legist\/?p=2512"},"modified":"2022-02-24T15:14:48","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T15:14:48","slug":"csos-prepare-for-senate-public-hearing-on-cama-amendment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/placng.org\/Legist\/csos-prepare-for-senate-public-hearing-on-cama-amendment\/","title":{"rendered":"CSOs Prepare for Senate Public Hearing on CAMA Amendment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Civil society organisations (CSOs) from across Nigeria met at a Public Consultative meeting organised by Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) with support from the European Union and the British Council\u2019s EU-ACT project, to discuss the provisions of a bill to amend the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2020. At the meeting which held in Abuja on Monday, 21<sup>st<\/sup> February 2022, civil society groups extensively discussed the proposed amendments to CAMA as it relates to the operations of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), contained in a Senate bill (SB 904) sponsored by Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe. At the meeting, CSOs proffered suggestions and made inputs for a common position to be presented during the Public Hearing on the bill, set for mid-March 2022.
