However, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed \nsuspended proceedings, stating that a member of the 7-man panel was \nindisposed. The Court adjourned sitting to Tuesday, 14<sup>th<\/sup> January 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been tension in some of the affected States in anticipation of the Court judgements. On Sunday, 12<sup>th<\/sup>\n January 2020, the Sokoto State Police Command stated that it had \ndeployed 1,000 officers and men across the State ahead of the delivery \nof the Court judgement in the appeal between the All Progressives \nCongress (APC) governorship candidate in the election, Ahmed Aliyu \nSokoto and the State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal of the Peoples Democratic \nParty (PDP), who won the 2019 governorship election by a margin of 342 \nvotes after a supplementary election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Supreme Court on Wednesday, 8<sup>th<\/sup> January 2020 upheld \nthe election of the Governors of four States, namely; Abia, Delta, \nNiger, and Taraba.
