The emergence and growth of civil society in Nigeria has made tremendous impact over the years. However, it appears that the nature and role of civil society is still misunderstood by a vast majority of people. From promoting democracy in Nigeria, to engendering  political, social and economic change, civil society has been acting as an intermediary between the government and citizens, demanding accountability and transparency in governance and public service delivery.
