Protecting the Right to Education in Nigeria

In the fifth episode of PLAC’s Rights Conversations podcast, two guests discuss the topic, ‘Protecting the Right to Education in Nigeria.’ Bukky Shonibare, Executive Director of Invictus Africa and Pamela Okoroigwe, Director at The Inclusion Project, Nigeria, provide insight into education as an objective of the government, its emergence as a justiciable a right and the scope of enforceability. They also discuss the Universal Basic Education programme, budgetary allocation for education, lapses in fulfilling access to education for citizens, out-of-school children, among others.

Bukky and Pamela are Malala Fund champions, working to improve access to education in Nigeria, including Girl Child education.
