PLAC with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), organised a retreat for the House of Representatives Committee on Rules and Business with the theme “Developing Effective Manuals on Legislative Drafting and Procedure in the 10th House of Representatives”. The retreat held on 19th and 20th April 2024 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The retreat featured presentations by various facilitators, which focused on the business requirements of the Legislature under the 10th House of Representatives Legislative Agenda., to ensure standardisation in the language, structure and style of Bills. Other presentations focused on an appraisal of the work of the Rules and Business Committee, development of toolkits for an effective approach to preparation of Order Papers, Notice Papers, Bills and Motion drafting.
