Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) organised a retreat for the House of Representatives Committee on Rules and Business in Abuja with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The two-day retreat with the theme, “Enhancing the Quality of Legislative Instruments (Bills) in the 10th National Assembly” took place on November 24 and 25.
The objective of the retreat was to strengthen the committee’s capacity to oversight the quality of Bills and all other legislative instruments within its mandate. It was also aimed at enhancing coordination of standards for the development of Bills and scrutiny of Bills in the 10th National Assembly, as well as developing strategies for the production of a template for Bills development.
The retreat featured several presentations by various legislative experts.
