A joint retreat of Consultants working with the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Constitution Review held on 26th and 27th April 2024 in Abuja. The retreat was organised with support from PLAC and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The consultants and the secretariats of the two Committees reviewed Constitution Alteration bills that did not pass in previous amendment exercises, as well as critical subjects of national interest, to inform the approach of the 10th National Assembly’s amendment efforts.
The Deputy President of the Senate and the Deputy Speaker, who chair the Committees on Constitution Review in the Senate and House of Representatives respectively, attended the retreat and delivered remarks, to encourage the work of the consultants.
The consultants include lawyers, professors, Constitution Review experts from various parts of the country.
