Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) held a Joint Capacity Building Session for staff of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, and the House of Representatives Committee on CSOs and Development Partners in Abuja, on 21st November 2022. It was organised with support from the European Union Agents for Citizen-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) and the British Council. The meeting was aimed at providing staff of the Committees with an understanding of how to manage engagement with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). A Standard Operating Manual for a Civil Society Liaison Office (CSOLO) at the National Assembly was also introduced at the meeting. Conversations at the meeting focused on the role of civil society organisations in legislative and policy reforms, as well as enhancement of platforms and spaces for legislative and civil society engagement.
