The passage of the 2019 budget and the Minimum Wage Amendment Bill, 2019 are expected to form part of National Assembly’s priority concerns as it resumes legislative activities on Wednesday, 13th March, 2019.

At its reconvening, the National Assembly will be expected to prioritise deliberations and passage of the N8.83trillion 2019 Budget which has stalled in both chambers over political party campaigns and the General Elections since its presentation in December, 2018. The Senate is also expected to accelerate consideration on the Minimum Wage Bill that was presented by the Executive that seeks to increase the pay of public workers from N18,000 to N27,000. The House of Representatives had passed the Bill in January 2019 after expeditiously conducting a public hearing on the matter.
