The National Assembly has adjourned plenary to 12th March, 2019 following lawmakers’ failure to constitute a quorum at its first sitting after the Presidential/ National Assembly elections held on 23rd February, 2019. The low attendance which only saw 8 lawmakers in the Senate and 12 members in the House of Representatives forced the leadership of both chambers to extend reconvening by two weeks.
The Senate however promised to give due attention to the Minimum Wage Amendment Bill proposed by the Executive (to increase the wages of public servants) when it reconvenes in March.
